Terms of use
Last updated November 2, 2026
By using Backyard Plans you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.
What we provide
We make DIY plans for backyard projects: 3D models, cut lists, shopping lists, step-by-step instructions and AI-made pictures of your yard. Sizes, parts, cuts and prices come from our own rules. AI is used only to read your answers, to write instruction text and to make representative pictures.
Plans are guides, not professional advice
- Plans are not engineering, architectural or legal advice and carry no stamp or approval.
- Check local building rules, permits, utility lines, property lines and HOA rules before you build. You are responsible for them.
- Prices are estimates. Real prices vary by store and region.
- Yard pictures are representative and not to scale.
- Building involves tools and heights. Use safety gear, work with a helper when needed, and stop if a step is beyond your skill. Our plans cover simple projects only: no electrical, gas or plumbing, no structure attached to a house.
To the extent the law allows, Backyard Plans is not liable for injury, damage or loss from building a project, and our total liability for a plan is limited to what you paid for it.
Accounts, credits and payment
You sign in with Google or an email link. Payments are handled by Paddle, which is the seller of record. One credit unlocks one full plan. See the refund policy.
Your content
You keep your photos. You allow us to process them to make your previews and plans. Please upload only photos you have the right to use and avoid people’s faces and license plates.
Your plans
You may use a plan you bought to build the project for yourself. You may not resell or republish the plan files.
